Background
I first became involved with Gurkhas whilst in Borneo in 1963 when I served with the Parachute Regiment. These “little men” from the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal impressed me so much with their courage, humour, loyalty and education, that I vowed to help them however I could.
Over the years, I have made so many Gurkha friends that I decided to try and help them obtain the right to remain in the U.K. as a British Citizen, after their discharge from the Army. After 10 years of writing to M.P.’s and Prime Ministers, and with the added help of the British Gurkha Welfare Society, under the Chairmanship of Major Tikendra Devan, this was achieved in 2005.
Following some years as Head of Security, in late 2004, I decided to formulate a company to help my friends obtain work. The outcome of this was the formation of Elite Force Security Ltd T/A Gurkha Security (UK).
